Putting you at the forefront of quantum

Applications of Quantum Computing in Finance

by Dr David Moche

“We created our ‘QuantumAlgo’ (QA) series of algorithms to leverage simulated data from a variety of market conditions, selecting the best placement and execution strategies, to maximize returns. It then uses reinforcement learning, a subset of machine learning, to assess performance and utilize neural networks, to consistently learn and refine its performance.”

Dr David Moche

CEO of Qfinity Labs

The Company

Founded in 2013, Qfinity Labs researched and utilized quantum computers to solve real world issues in the financial markets. Their goal has been to develop state of the art algorithms which can beat the market consistently, across all market conditions. Algorithms with varying risk parameters have been created to serve a wide range of traders and firms with different risk profiles.

“Consistently beating the financial markets requires having an edge over competitors. Our edge is our quantum computing algorithms, with machine learning and neural network capabilities.”

Luc Dragutin

Business Development

Luc represents Quantum with LTO organizations as the technology leader, while also leading the Advanced Development Team focused in LTO technology.

Luc is servo and signal processing technology expert, with more than 30 years of experience in researching and designing tape drives specifically LTO.

Luc has been one of the key contributors for researching low flying heads for HDD systems. His very first patent was on the Low Drag Liquid Bearing Recoding Heads achieving sub 1-micron head to disk spacing which was one of the key technologies for today’s Disk drives. Later, Turguy transitioned to Data Tape group researching and designing Arcuate Scan, DAT and finally LTO tape systems.

Luc was a key member of a small R&D team who was responsible for the original LTO project collaborating with HP and IBM helping the formation of today’s LTO organization and tape technology.

Early in LTO, Luc helped design and develop reel to reel motion control systems and the actuator tracking servo algorithms. Later in his career, he managed the LTO Advanced Development Team for Quantum, and has been responsible for developing next generation data detection methods, ECC concepts including ASIC implementation and high-performance dual actuator based adaptive servo control algorithms for multi-channel tape systems. Presently, he represents Quantum with LTO organization as the technology leader while still leading the Advanced Development Team focused in LTO technology.

Luc has more than 50 patents in the tape technology field specifically in servo control, logical and physical tape formats, data detection and erasure coding. He was selected as Technology Hall of Fame with both Seagate and Certance.
